Guests..

Just noticed something quite wierd, everytime I log on it's always me and one other guest in here. It's like I'm stalked by that guest or that he/she is constanstly logged on.. it's wierd, why would anyone wanna lurk around in here as a guest?

Shir is right, there is almost always a spam bot lurking around trying to post or register, that's pretty much always who the "guest" is.

I'm not so sure.. If it were as you think just a spam bot luring around, then how come there is always just one? Wouldn't it some times be more than one and some times zero?

The last ten times+ I logged on, there has, I said above, always been me, 1 guest and perhaps one other member.

In case you really want to know I have looked at the IP addresses of the guests who are on the site (which is an option in the admin panel), and it gives me an option to lookup the users IP to see what server it comes from, and more often than not the server name is googlebot.com, which I assume is just google searching through the contents of the site for their search engine. I bet that's the one you see most of the time, and if there are 2 guests it's probably googlebot.com and a spammer trying to register.

Just now I checked the guest and it is listed like this;

IP address: 66.249.73.102
Host name: crawl-66-249-73-102.googlebot.com
66.249.73.102 is from United States(US) in region North America

This IP was listed in 15 places within 3 minutes, so that's why I assume it's just the search engine. If you go to googlebot.com it just forwards you to google.

Just to assure you even further that you do not have a stalker, I looked at when you posted that you saw 2 guests (3:06pm) and checked my e-mail for attempted registrations, and there was one at 3:00 and one at 3:04 by two different IP addresses.
